FAQs

What should I expect on my first visit?

During the first visit, the doctors will spend significant time getting to know you. She wants to understand your concerns, goals, and lifestyle. She will provide education on normal anatomy using models and pictures as needed and thoroughly explain her examination strategies. If you are comfortable, she will perform a complete examination to determine areas of muscular imbalance, postural deficits, and faulty movement patterns. This often includes hands on muscle testing, measurement of joint motion, observation of movements, and sometimes, an internal examination of the pelvic floor region. The doctor will explain her examination findings throughout the evaluation and you will discuss treatment options together. The first visit typically involves significant education on normal anatomy, the findings of your examination and ways to change movement patterns. You will likely be prescribed a home exercise program and receive hands on treatment at your first session. You should noticed a difference in your symptoms after the first session.

How do I access paperwork for the first visit?

When you schedule an evaluation, you will either get an email from PTEverywhere to set up a new appointment or you will automatically be prompted to set up an account with PTEverywhere. Please fill out the forms under the document tab in the app/website 24 hours before your appointment. We know this information is personal and your privacy is of utmost importance to us. All of our software and electronic medical records are HIPAA compliant.

What should I wear?

It is important that you are comfortable during your visits. Typically, athletic attire such as stretchy pants and a t-shirt is helpful, but not required. The doctor may ask you to undress and use a sheet to cover up so that she can adequately visualize and access the area she is treating.

What if I am being treated for pelvic health concerns and I am menstruating?

Internal assessment and treatment can still be performed during a menstrual cycle if you are comfortable with this option. If so, the doctor will utilize chucks pads on the treatment table and provide you with wipes after the treatment. If you are not comfortable with internal work, the doctor will focus on external surrounding areas such as the hips, lower back, abdomen and pelvis. You may also cancel your appointment and reschedule for a later date through the PTEverywhere app (https://app.pteverywhere.com/insightpelvichealth.com). Please try your best to cancel with at least 24 hours notice. If you are unable to provide this notice, contact the doctors directly at 970-541-9667 and they will discuss options.

Her goal is to get you better and the only way to do that is by honoring your wishes.
